When I decided to switch to a new character in Tales of the Free Folk, it seemed a fairly obvious choice to pick Saryssa, the burglar I’ve been playing on Tuesdays for a while now. This character is the only LOTRO character whose biography field is filled in, and her backstory is generally explained as “nobody actually knows what her backstory is, because it changes every time she tells it”. It seemed like a fun concept to role-play, and has proven entertaining in the show, though in practice it means I have to not only keep track of what stories she’s told, I also have to make sure I have new ones ready to go.
When GreyMaster added the burglar’s mask to the TFF logo, I thought it was great, but there was a tiny snag: Saryssa in-game had never worn a mask! I went looking for one that would fit, and ended up designing the outfit around it. Sometimes that happens, when I want to use a particular piece and have to play with the paper dolls until it comes out looking the way I want it to. Of course, Saryssa in TFF doesn’t wear a mask, because she’s totally a “minstrel”.
