Guest Outfit: Karvenger of Middle-earth

I don’t often do a lot of outfits with helmets, but sometimes the helmet is the whole inspiration for the outfit. This one, put together by my friend Karvett, happened because he got the helmet as a reward when we were doing the Stoneheight instance over the weekend. While the Avengers may not necessarily be lore-appropriate, it’s certainly entertaining to see a Middle-earth version of a superhero, which this guy clearly is!

Incidentally, a lot of people tend to overlook the equipment that drops from scaling instances, but starting from level 50 there are some pretty good stats on those rewards. Of course, people who are leveling fairly quickly won’t always come up with a full set, but it’s definitely what I use for characters who level slower, especially the ones who primarily play with others.

Head: Potent Enduring Helm of Protection, Evendim blue dye (scaled instance drop)
Shoulders: Daervunn’s Pauldrons, Evendim blue dye (scaled instance drop)
Back: Potent Valourous Cloak of Fate, Evendim blue dye (scaled instance drop)
Chest: Potent Valourous Breastplate of Prowess, Evendim blue dye (scaled instance drop)
Hands: Turcham, Evendim blue dye (North Downs quest reward)
Legs: Potent Enduring Leggings of Perseverance, Evendim blue dye (scaled instance drop)
Feet: Hill-man’s Cracked Leather Boots, Evendim blue dye (Dunland quest reward)

  1. Looks like Karv did a nice job piecing that outfit together. Slight correction – I believe the scaled stuff can start dropping 45+, and Daervunn’s Pauldrons is a selectable reward from a Volume 3 epic quest (V3, B1, Ch 5: Loose Ends in the North Downs). Scaled instance drops are pretty easy to decipher since they are the ones with the boring names. 😀

    1. I didn’t notice it dropping when we were running the instances below 50, but that could just be because my luck with the RNG is about as good as Drac’s. I didn’t look too closely at where the pauldrons came from, either, but it still counts as North Downs, right? Right. Because it’s my closet and I said so. 😉
