Burgling in Moria

Recently, I rolled a new burglar on the Arkenstone server. After spending the points to Veteran Status him out of the intro and then spending some time playing paper dolls to find just the right outfit, I took him to the Shire, where I decided to filter off a bunch of things in the map and radar as a challenge to see how far he could get without getting into combat.

He wound up making it to level twelve, at which point I spent more LOTRO Points on Gift of the Valar, and promptly took him to Moria… with map and radar things still filtered off. Needless to say, the dwarves have been somewhat less than impressed:

For those interested in watching this madness, I’m also streaming it over on my Twitch channel. So far, I’ve managed to not get into too much trouble, but that’s not likely to last, as I get deeper into Moria.

Soldier of Gondor

As mentioned in a recent LOTRO Academy episode, I haven’t really connected with the Captain class, but it turns out I really love dressing them up. Cathanriel, my Arkenstone cappy, recently got a makeover, so now she looks properly Gondorian. Since she’s only level 16, I had to spend a mithril coin to get her to the right spot for a photo shoot, as she’s originally from Minas Tirith.

Sometimes spamming emotes and the capture screenshot key can result in some pretty funny captures. For example, in this one it looks as though she’s asking this swan-knight, “Excuse me?” in a highly offended tone.

“You would not believe what that guy said to me!”

“Perhaps you’re right. Punching him in the face may have been going too far.”

Helsur Gets a Makeover

While choppering around Middle-earth as a shirtless bad-boy on a goat can be fun, there are occasionally times when a dwarf mini needs to cover those chest hairs. Having them get tangled in one’s lute strings is rather less than fun, after all.

Head: Mariner’s Eyepatch (Barter cosmetic or random drop during the Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariner event)
Shoulders: Noble’s Woolen Mantle, navy dye (Dunland quest reward)
Chest: Scholar’s Vestments, crimson dye (most outfitters)
Hands: Fingerless Gloves, sienna dye (Yule Festival)
Feet: Clanweave Boots, umber dye (Dunland quest reward)

Shirtless Dwarves are Awesome

Just look at this hunk-a hunk-a burnin’ dwarf minstrel! Okay, maybe the hobbits aren’t quite so impressed with this bad boy from the Lonely Mountain, but that’s probably because he’s not showing off pie with those pecs.

Helsur and Kelsur

The dwarf goodness isn’t just limited to Helsur, either! Currently there are four Rockinstone brothers: Helsur, Kelsur, Belsur and Zelsur. That’s an awful lot of dwarven hotness, right?
