While choppering around Middle-earth as a shirtless bad-boy on a goat can be fun, there are occasionally times when a dwarf mini needs to cover those chest hairs. Having them get tangled in one’s lute strings is rather less than fun, after all.
Head: Mariner’s Eyepatch (Barter cosmetic or random drop during the Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariner event)
Shoulders: Noble’s Woolen Mantle, navy dye (Dunland quest reward)
Chest: Scholar’s Vestments, crimson dye (most outfitters)
Hands: Fingerless Gloves, sienna dye (Yule Festival)
Feet: Clanweave Boots, umber dye (Dunland quest reward)
Instrument: Basic Lute (any bard)
I’d originally planned on skipping Moria entirely on my challenge minstrel (so called because she’s not using Legendary Items), but when she finished Eregion at level 55, I couldn’t bring myself to skirmish through the gap to get her into Enedwaith. Since she had to level a starter LI the ten levels required to finish the intro, I opted to run her through Sarnur and gather the rep for the Thorin’s Hall goat. Then I discovered that the Thorin’s Hall dress matched the shield I already had cosmetically equipped, and that meant it was makeover time!
After all, if you’re going to go through Moria (again) anyway, you might as well look fabulous for the trip, right?
Head: Extravagant Festival Cap, red dye (Yule Festival)
Shoulders: Tactical Westfold Campaign Shoulder Pads, crimson dye (crafted T7 light armour)
Back: Treasure Hunter’s Satchel, umber dye (Treasure Hunt)
Chest: Long-sleeved Dwarf-make Dress, red dye (Thorin’s Hall vendor, requires Kindred)
Shield: Potent Resolute Shield of Tactics (scaled instance drop)
Just look at this hunk-a hunk-a burnin’ dwarf minstrel! Okay, maybe the hobbits aren’t quite so impressed with this bad boy from the Lonely Mountain, but that’s probably because he’s not showing off pie with those pecs.
The dwarf goodness isn’t just limited to Helsur, either! Currently there are four Rockinstone brothers: Helsur, Kelsur, Belsur and Zelsur. That’s an awful lot of dwarven hotness, right?
Head: Mariner’s Eyepatch (Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariner)
Chest: Bare-chested (LOTRO Store, dwarf-only)
Legs: Ceremonial Woodsman’s Supple Leggings, black dye (Lalia’s Market, similar appearances can be found as quest rewards in Dunland)
Feet: Ceremonial Trapper’s Leather Boots, black dye (Lalia’s Market, similar appearances can be found as quest rewards in Dunland)
Just another LOTRO fashion blog? Maybe, maybe not. Sometimes these outfits need more characters than Twitter lets me have, though, and this will hopefully make them easier to find. This outfit started with the apple basket, and just sort of grew from there. The new dress we got in the 2015 Harvestmath festival dyes beautifully, and so does the cloak. It ended up coming out so well that I put it on not one but two minstrel characters:
Let me tell you, it is NOT easy getting a photo shoot with a wolf!
Chest: Dress of the Anorien Autumn (Harvestmath Festival, red dye)
Back: Plain Hooded Cloak (any outfitter, red dye)
Held: Basket of Apples (Harvestmath Festival)
