Walk Softly and Carry a Big Stick

I’ve been wanting to play with this chest piece for a while now, and I’ve finally gotten around to doing it. Part of the reason it’s taken so long is it’s required the creation of a Beorning character, and because the chest piece is one of the starter cosmetics that the furballs get. Once that obstacle was finally overcome, I had to decide which character to use it on… and ended up making a new one. The goal here was to make her look as rustic as possible, and I’m pretty sure I succeeded.

Chest: Langhar’s Tunic and Waistcoat, Rivendell green dye (Beorning starter equipment)

From Big to Small: Robes

Outfitting can be fun, but it can also occasionally be frustrating. Different cosmetics shape differently to various body types, and while some things can be covered with the right accessories, sometimes a concept just doesn’t come together at all and has to be scrapped. Here’s an example of how the same robe can change based on what race is wearing it:

DwarfRobe

Notice how much shorter the hem falls on the dwarf compared to the woman captain in the featured image.

ElfRobe

There’s another subtle change when the character is a male elf.

HobbitRobe

And again on a female hobbit. This robe happens to look great on everyone, but beware that not all things do!

Into Rohan

Rohan is one of those areas I never get tired of questing in… or making outfits for. Admittedly, my elven huntress Alistriel was nearly finished with it before I got around to making something more appropriate to all the time she was spending among the horse-lords, but better late than not at all, I suppose.

Strictly speaking, this bridge is on the border between the Great River region and the Wold, looking back into the Great River. The epic storyline skips around a bit here, but it’s fairly close to Langhold, which begins the quests for attaining a war-steed.

Feet: Nightshade Boots, walnut brown dye (Dunland quest reward, similar appearance can be found in Lalia’s market)
Bow: Reshaped Hunter’s Bow of the First Age (crafted by Chromite)

Be Vewwy, Vewwy Quiet…

When I decided to do a makeover of my Gladden characters, I really wanted to work with the Visage of the Bear. I’d borrowed it from someone ages ago to add to the wardrobe, but hadn’t gotten around to actually using it. After a lengthy round of LOTRO paper dolls, I realized it made the most sense for my elven huntress.

Sometimes finding the right pose for a screenshot can be a daunting task; in this case, Alistriel is captured just as she’s rising from having used her tracking skill, which shows off the headwear to best effect.
