Let’s Talk Champions

Yesterday’s blog post was going to be the new outfit for my Gladden burglar that I spent much of the evening putting together, and while that post may still show up this week, I really just want to take the time to express some opinions about the awesomeness of champions. Particularly the champions’ red trait line.

While the “shing-shing” sound is probably one of the most recognizable sound effects in the game, the echoing, earth-shattering quaking sound that accompanies Devastating Strike is so familiar to me that I can pick it out from farther away than I can actually see other players. I’m not one to crunch numbers, but traiting the single-target red line has always felt faster to me, more so than the blender technique available in yellow line.

Teri Traits Red Line

For the curious, this is how Teriadwyn on Landroval is currently traited: lots of red, a bit of blue, and enough yellow to get the shing-shing that is Raging Blade. She’s missing some points, but this + essence gear is what lets me solo through tier 2 duo skirmishes, as seen on Sunday’s stream. And yes, that includes a tier 2 duo of Icy Crevasse.

Outfit: Heavy Nadhin Armour, sea blue dye (Dol Amroth faction barter, also random BoE pieces drop on the landscape)
Steed: Steed of the Ship-kings (Pelargir reputation barter, Central Gondor)
